The Icelandic horse, nature and culture

kludals1.jpg - 100.03 KbThe farm Kuludalsa is located in West Iceland, near the small town Akranes and close to road number one. The owner is Ragnheidur Thorgrimsdottir. She is born and brought up on the farm and has a long career as a teacher.

When you leave Reykjavik you drive toward north. It takes about 40 minutes to drive to Kuludalsa. On the way there is a tunnel under Hvalfjörður/ Whalefjord (Hvalfjarðargöng). When you leave the tunnel on the north side, you drive toward east and it takes only 2 – 3 minutes from the tunnel and to the farm, that is on the sea side of the road. (Please dont take the tiny road to ”Kuludalsa 2” on the left side of the road).

Horse - culture

On our farm, we keep a number of nice horses that have been trained for those who have little or no experience in horseback riding. Sometimes we have courses for childreen in horsemanship and riding as we believe that  horses are able to turn the attitude toward nature and culture the positive way. Turists that wish to meet those horses and take a short riding tour are very welcome.
